Hi everyone, I'm Roland, and I'm beyond excited to kick off our very first blog post with a topic that's close to my heart: workation in Thailand!

I just returned from an incredible workation experience, and let me tell you: it was truly life-changing. From exploring breathtaking landscapes to savouring delicious cuisine, and immersing myself in a productive yet relaxed environment, Thailand exceeded all my expectations.

Let us start to have a look at my daily work life: It was so relaxed and focused.

Thailand is six hours ahead of Central European Time. I am loving it! When I am in Thailand, I get up with the sunrise at 7.00 a.m., do some exercise, jump into the pool, and get a small breakfast with delicious mangos and papayas.

At 8.00 a.m. I start working on my important projects in the shadow of our terrace overlooking the beautiful coast of Koh Samui. For me, it is the most beautiful spot to get my work done. I love to work outside in shorts. It is the moment when I feel extremely privileged, happy, and productive.

At noon I take a 3-hour-break with my girlfriend at the pool or the beach and have lunch. You get gorgeous Thai Food at every corner for 3 Euros. Especially in the first weeks, I do not want to miss my daily fresh coconut 😊.

In the afternoon I dress up and work in the office, either in our coliving or at a coworking nearby. I schedule calls with colleagues and business partners in Europe between 3.00 – 7.00 p.m. They know that I am in Thailand, and I am only available at that time. With a booking software like Calendly this works perfectly fine. At 7.00 p.m. I stop working and enjoy the sunset.

This routine works perfectly for me and my job. But I also met Digital Nomads with other routines: Some start working early in the morning to have the afternoon and evening free, some others prefer to work in the afternoon until night.

In Thailand, you have the freedom to work in your favorite place at your own pace!
